Dean Taylor and his wife Tania were both in the U. S. Army when they realized that, as committed Christians, they had to come to grip with these question in a new and sincere quest for truth. They were determined to follow Jesus Christ under the banner of "no compromise". As they began to search the Scriptures and church history, they came to the star-tling discovery that the Christian Church originally was uniformly opposed to Christians going to war or joining the military.

In A Change of Allegiance, Taylor takes the reader on a moving journey through the Scriptures, Christian history, and his own life’s story—demonstrating the incompatibility of Christianity and war. Ultimately, Taylor challenges his readers to consider where their allegiance really lies.

I love this book! 09/05/2017
By David Sanabria
I fell in love with Jesus as a child reading Matthew 5-7. I remember reading Matt. 5:38-48 for the first time as young boy (8-10 yr old) and being blown away. It took a while for me to change my allegiance to the Kingdom of God.

This book brought me back to that time as young boy.

Easily the best argument for biblical nonresistance I have read.

But it also goes farther and wider than just nonresistance and that's where I think this book really shines.

Great book on real discipleship 03/06/2009
By Mike Atnip
During the course of my Christian journey, I have read a number of articles and tracts on the subject of non-resistance and following Jesus. I must say that I would recommend this book before any others, especially for those, like Dean, who find themselves smack in the middle of a military career. Dean dissects the common arguments of "just war" and the host of other ideas that try to negate simply doing what Jesus has told us to do- love your enemies.

A Change of Allegiance 03/11/2009

Dean gave me the answers to use that have opened the eyes of some dear friends who now are beginning to consider taking the words of Christ at face value. What a timely work in my life as I seek to follow our risen Lord. I would suggest any youth group should read this together and discover the tools to repel the world's attempts to not do what Jesus calls us to be about. They'll be talking all night about scripture, not current fashions!

A Change of Alligence 10/27/2010
By Fred J. Morgan
This book is from the same place I found myself about ten years ago. As a disabled veterian, I was challanged when I discovered the Christianity I was taught from a child was flawed. This Book gives a real life account of someone who has discovered that the Bible is LITERALLY correct. Jesus not only has given us true salvation thru his grace but also a New Covenient to live, one that demands living "From the Cross" not just leaning on it.

Outstanding book on nonresistance. 02/19/2009
By David Bercot
This is one of the best books I have ever read on the subject of war and Christian nonresistance. Dean Taylor and I served together in ministry for 10 years in Texas, so I know him well. In fact, I met Dean just shortly after the events described in his book. He is a true man of God and a man of keen insight. When I read A Change of Allegiance for the first time, I immediately realized that Dean is also a gifted writer.

Excellent Resource on Nonresistence 03/11/2009
By Dean Wilson
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book! Some of of the things I learned from it I recently shared in our home fellowship. Dean does a very good job of explaining how Christians need to be soldiers for Jesus and that means being non-resistent as Jesus is.
