The Society Celebrates Its 10th Anniversary
With much joy and deep gratitude to our God, this past January 16th we celebrated the 10th anniversary of the Society of the Good Shepherd in Honduras. For that occasion we had the great blessing of having David and Deborah Bercot with their son Andre and his wife Elizabeth with us in Siguatepeque.
We also had the privilege of having with us the board of directors from Comayagua and La Paz, with whom we were able to share a good time of communion, stories and prayer. It was also a time to encourage and motivate those brothers and sisters in this ministry. The first part of the day ended with lunch and a time to share prayer requests.
The current beneficiaries, along with many of the past beneficiaries, joined us in the afternoon for the second part of the day’s activities. There was worship, prayer, and a Bible lesson given by Andre Bercot. The brothers and sisters also enjoyed the usual time of wholesome games. Afterwards, David and Deborah Bercot got to blow out the candles on the anniversary cake, since they are the founders of this ministry.
And to commemorate these past 10 great years of the Society of the Good Shepherd, a slide show was exhibited. It helped us remember that the road hasn’t always been easy. There have been good moments, laughter and tears, but in every single circumstance we have seen God’s faithfulness, His mercy, and His great love.
That Saturday we enjoyed a good and relaxed environment, but overall there was an atmosphere of gratitude towards God for the blessing of participating in one way or the other in the ministry of the Society of the Good Shepherd and for allowing it to grow and bless many families during the last ten years.
The gratitude extends to the Bercot family and other brothers and sisters that direct this ministry. Also to each and every person who invests time, money and effort for the Society. God bless you greatly! Nancy Barahona

The most effective way to learn Spanish is the immersion method. Using this method, a person lives for a brief time in a Spanish-speaking country, preferably with a Spanish-speaking family, while studying several hours a day at a Spanish language school. The school we recommend is located in Siguatepeque, Honduras, run by a Christian family with whom we are intimately acquainted. Please visit their site at www.learn-spanish-Honduras.org.
