For example, the Scriptures tell us, “The authorities that exist are appointed by God. Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God. . . . Render therefor to all their due: taxes to whom taxes are due: (Rom. 13). Yet, the American colonists refused to pay their taxes, and they rebelled against their government. Was that right?
The American colonists had many admirable traits, and they established a wonderful country. This is not an anti-American book. It is a pro-kingdom book. I teach high school Government, Economics, and US History. I can heartily recommend this book for all three subjects! Bercot masterfully teaches what our founding fathers truly believed. I have a number of my students who have read the book and they have been profoundly affected.
