Music CD: The Lord’s Prayer and Other Hymns

For years we’ve been looking for a music CD with a particular sound: traditional hymns sung by an excellent tenor or baritone lead voice, accompanied with group harmony. No drums, electric guitars, synthesized percussion, or other modern innovations. We never found the CD we were looking for, so we decided to compile our own.
We listened to hundreds of recorded tracks, and when we found the sound we were looking for, we bought the rights to those tracks. About half of the hymns are sung a cappella, and the others feature light background instrumentation. Here is Scroll Publishing’s first music CD, with ten of our favorite hymns.

My Greek Bible – Greek New Testament for English Speakers

FOREWORD TO THIS PROJECT

What exactly is my Greek Bible?

This project started based on a dream to allow English-speaking readers to come as close as possible to the original text of the New Testament without studying the Greek language. We aimed to present the great story of Jesus, in an authentic yet presentable easy form. Because up to 50,000 words in the English language have a Greek origin along with 40,000 Latin words that also have Greek origin, we can safely say that English speakers do know Greek. Therefore, in the translated English text of the New Testament, we have substituted thousands of words with original Greek expressions while using Latin transliteration of the Greek script. This way we make it easier for readers to pronounce and read the words used in the original Greek text. Description of each word is included within the text on every page and repetition of its use can be tracked easily as well. We wanted to prepare a version of the New Testament for any reader who wants to come closer to the Greek text in which the greatest story of all time was recorded.

Orthodox Study Bible

We have decidedly mixed views about carrying the Orthodox Study Bible. We are opposed to all study Bibles—Bibles that include interpretational comments alongside God’s inspired Word. Having said that, the Orthodox Study Bible contains one of the best and most readable translations of the Septuagint available.

Parábolas de Jesus del reino

David Bercot

El tema de la mayoría de las parábolas de Jesús fue el reino de Dios. De hecho, estas parábolas contienen muchas de las enseñanzas esenciales sobre el reino. Sin embargo, debido a que no se ajustan a la teología de la mayoría de las iglesias, las parábolas del reino de Jesús han sido ignoradas sobre los siglos o se han reinterpretadas para adaptarse a las doctrinas particulares de diferentes grupos.
