Probably no scene from The Martyrs Mirror is quite as memorable as that of Dirk Willems turning to save the life of the drowning deputy who had been sent to arrest him. Despite his act of Christian love, the Catholic authorities still ordered the deputy to arrest Dirk, who they later burned at the stake. Yet, in the end, Dirk Willems has outlived his executioners.

Great gift and visual reminder and conversation starter for guests to your house. This is a great reminder of the heart of Jesus and how we should be striving through the narrow gate, taking up the cross and following Him. I’ve given these away as gifts to my friends.
This picture is of good quality and when put in a nice frame between backing and glass is perfectly suitable for the living room wall. It will serve as a constant reminder of the suffering love we are called to as disciples of Christ.
I have this poster in my high school classroom near my desk. Often a student will ask about it and I’m able to tell the story of this godly kingdom Christian, Dirk Willems. It’s a wonderful conversation starter!
I received the posters very fast and am amazed by the quality. My grandfather used to have this in his living room, and now I do too!
Can you please tell me who the artist is who created this image?
