David Bercot. What the Early Christians Believed About Divorce and Remarriage. A century ago, it was extremely rare for a non-Christian—let alone a Christian—to obtain a divorce. Today, so-called Bible-believing Christians divorce one another just as frequently as does the world. The reason is that the Church has abandoned Christ’s teaching on divorce and remarriage.
In this message, Bercot looks at the New Testament teachings on divorce and explains how those passages were applied by the early Christians.

This is the clearest, most rationale, thorough, and honest teaching I have ever heard on the subject. This is one of Christ’s toughest teaching, as it so greatly goes against our thinking today. Thank you very much for clarifying these issues that so many others write off as “too confusing” to understand (i.e. so do what you want or feel justified in a decision you have made in the past).
I’m sure this is a great CD and have helped people. For me it just didn’t grab my interest as much as David Bercot’s other CDs. I listened to it four times and slept through tract 8-10 each time. I even tried to just listen to tract 8-10 and was asleep in minutes! If you know those with sleeping disorder problems, this is the CD for them! It works every time! Grin!
I love David Bercot’s works but this one im still trying to figure out. I really could not understand it at all.
Thank you for clarifying, what the bible actually says and how to approach this topic. It is amazing how clearly the Early Christians understood the topic and it is terrible how much most of the churches deviate from Jesus’ clear words.
